Q. What is the CBT?
A. The CBT stands for the "Confederation of Businesses and Traders" which was formed to protect consumers and to assist members to generate business. Membership is given to tradesmen, businesses and start-ups, providing them with accreditation and support. Members benefit from continuous business support, online advertising and free web services generating more customer leads. We provide unbeatable and unrivaled member benefits including FREE WEBSITES with free annual hosting and no setup costs. A. We undertake to ensure that business details are verified before they are accepted by the CBT. We therefore see it as important we conduct checks to satisfy the consumer’s expectations. Our checks are conducted in accordance with the most commonly used practises of trade associations within the RMI sector, and retail, leisure and services industries. Q. Can you Initiate Debt Collection Procedures and Prepare Small Claims?
A. Yes we will initiate debt collection procedures for commercial debts and send letters to business debtors at no cost to members. Don’t suffer from unpaid invoices, we will write to the debtor and even prepare small claims for the courts if necessary in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on your behalf.

Q. How much is the Membership Fee and can I spread the cost?
A. Membership calculates at the equivalent rate of £3.37 +vat per week. There are no upfront fees when an application for membership is made. If an application is rejected or refused again there is nothing to pay. The annual membership fee is a flat rate of £175 +vat for all businesses no matter the size. Applicants can use the Pay Plan option to spread the cost over 7 months with the first payment of £25 + vat made 21 days after the application for membership.

Q. Can you tell me more about the Resident Club?
A. Membership to the resident’s club is completely Free and open to the public. By joining apart from the benefits of obtaining family websites at low preferential rates, useful Links and advice is provided along with discounts from trade members. The public are also protecting themselves from rogue traders by using registered members. Residents request quotations for goods or services, which we in turn forward to members, requesting that a quotation be sent to the resident member. This initiative has proven to be a mutually rewarding way for both Trade Members to obtain business and Resident Club members to get work done at reasonable costs.
